Review: Rabbit TV

Description: A USB device
Main Pitch: "Access over 2,000 TV stations on your computer"
Main Offer: One for $20
Bonus: 2nd one (just pay a separate fee)
Marketer: Telebrands
Website: www.GetRabbitTV.com
Prediction: Likely to succeed

For $20, I think people will buy this to try it. Why not? Also, I know in certain ethnic communities such devices are very hot.

On a side note, I liked the creative approach. It felt like a cable company commercial, which will help overcome the credibility barrier.

  1. Interesting. You reviewed the advertising not the actual product. Misleading title.

  2. Not misleading at all. Who said it was supposed to be a product review? As the header above says, this blog is about "short-form DRTV." I write about DR campaigns like a movie critic writes about movies. It's that kind of "review." Thanks for reading.

  3. I found the things you liked about it to be very frustrating. I live out in the sticks, and would be interested, but _because_ they made it like a cable commercial, I kinda lost intrest in the product.

And I would be the typical customer of such a thing. You don't want a product to sound like something I don't like.....

Now, off to find a real product review, this site is a little different, didn't find what I was looking for. :)

  4. I can not find anywhere on their site, or even if I call their number, what is the TV line up. I do not like to by a pig in a poke! I would need to know what I am getting other than "0ver 2000 Internet Stations".

I get the feeling that they do not list what you can get because it would run away most people from buying it.

  5. Over 2000 tv stations online? There's no such thing. You will NOT find "The Weather Channel", "CNN" or any other cable channel. Might as well just watch hulu or Youtube.

  6. bottom line, post up a rabbit tv channel line up. unless theres something to hide. lmao, whats the big secret about?

  7. Go read the Amazon reviews, where this thing is selling for $4.99. It's a 256 MB USB stick loaded with buggy HTML written in Chinese. POS scam.

    1. Thanks. Your post is the first thing even pointing to a review. If you're right, I think products like this should be banned from the market. Someone once stated that 90% of everything is crap. I'd like that number to at least go down.

  8. It's a total scam. Lousy foreign programming, terrible software, and they keep charging you an annual license fee every year automatically. Who knows whether it's even possible to cancel easily?

    Be afraid. Be very afraid.

  9. sounds like a total money making scam to me...and why would you want two of these "rabbits" any way when it is so easy to plug and unplug it to take it any where????? but on the "lighter" side, maybe "wise" to get two...the way "rabbits" multiply you could end up with a bunch of "free" ones....lol....hope this put a smile on your faces....seriously though...still sounds like a scam...

    1. Pam, strange but I just saw the ad the other night and I thought the same thing. why would I want 2 and if I did get 2 would they have little rabbits that I could sell.
May be the people on Amazon selling them for $4.99 that was posted by anonymous on 9/20/12 are doing that. Can't wait till they start giving them away because they have too many.

  10. No information regarding channel lineup tells me somebody is hiding something. I get free internet tv from a large number of sources now at no charge. Tell us what makes you special and what the channels are, then maybe I'll buy.

  14. I was reading about scams and reviews.. it is logical not buying rabbit tv,, since I had thought about buying one,, but better read reviews first before you buy,, so I'm glad that I didint buy it,, better wait till walmart has it,, then it can be return,,, also I been hearing alot of complaints with the telemarkets,, couple of years ago,, I bought 2 watering globes for watering your plants,, but instead of 2,, I received 20 globes and charged me 195 dollars including for each of the shipping charge,, so then now,, I have learned my lesson,,,

    1. walmart has it. my mom bought one & I still can't get past registration because after I corrected one number my entire registration would not continue even tho i corrected it.(LOL) So I called the number & a guy tried to tell me the longest web address for the tech help & he could not tell the difference between the sounds T & D, or P & B so he became angry & frustrated when I kept asking if he meant T instead of D sound, in the word defauld(LOL) Actually I knew it must be default but he kept saying ," No, it's D." Finally, he said, " No, it's D like in Dom" which was T like in T for Tom.Same with P sound which he kept saing B. He was so frustrated with me, but I was very nice to him.(LOL) I'm sure he had same problems with others....SMILE Poor Guy...I still haven't even gotten my registration to go through even tho I corrected one number for them.I don't mind if there's foreign programming because I'm a Norwegian American studying Korean & Spanish. So you can buy it at Walmarts...I'm just reading reviews since my registration hasn't gone through yet anyway......

  16. first...understand something about internet tv...the shows are videos..not streaming live..the only live streaming are some sports and msnbc, the nfl channel..most all of ur tv shows or movies that they are charging you for you can google them and see the same thing for free. Soooo, if you wish to waste your money on something like this..be my guest..why pay for something you can get for free with just minimal research on google or bing...even if you return the product you are out the shipping charges ($7.95). Also a ridiculous amount of money for shipping something that would weigh less than ounce and should cost no more than $1.50 at most.

  17. Thanks reply posters. I will stick with the above mentioned sources. I cut my cable/DTV off 2yrs ago and haven't regretted it yet!

  18. I have seen the ads on TV and have wondered if these things might work on my laptop. When in Walgreens drug store, the "As Seen On TV Section, I found one for $9.99, no shipping etc. Still will have the same reception, or lack of, so checking online. It seems on the Rabbit TV website, in same paragraph it says, "

    1. I guess I can't quote what the TV Rabbit website said. So not to quote, it said in response to frequently asked question, are there any monthly fees? ( There are no monthly fees. ) (But if you want to keep using it after a year, it's $10 a year) This is NOT a quote from anyone but me. Check for yourself for information. I'm returning mine.

  19. I agree with a lot of these comments especially the ones regarding the offer of over 5,000 shows. Where is the list of the shows? Also why do I want two of them? It just shows like a load of crap, as always someone is trying to con people into buying some gizmo just to make a buck. Sometime actually commented that they bought 2 and neither of them work. In addition, someone mentioned that these so called channels are videos and NOT streaming. Anyway..I will keep what I have and just enjoy what I have. For people who stream their shows just Google and you'll find a lot of great sites showing shows from France, Australia, Denmark with English subtitles. You just have to diligent about it because believe it is out there in cyber space.

  20. so silly...they are already at walmart take it back if it doesnt work...who cares what channels its better than nothing when u hv nothing and the reason that u would want two is that if it really did work u would have one to give to family or friend?? these are not hard questions just have to step out of your small little boxes and see things from another perspective try it sometime!

    1. What are you saying? You don't care if it doesn't work because your time (or others' time) is so worthless? You can just waste time running back and forth to the store or post office with this thing?
      WHAT A MAROON!!

  21. I agree that you all should wait until your local WalMart has it in stock. If you aren't satisfied -simply take it back.

  22. I subscribe to the adage of nothing in life is totally free and it wouldn't surprise me if these USB devices were either downloading a virus or in someway phishing for personal information from my computer without me knowing it. You get what you pay for.
