More evidence than detente is dead. I first posted about Stompeez in September of 2011, so the campaign has a huge headstart -- not to mention much better creative (from the producer that brought you Pillow Pets) and a formidable retail distributor behind it. The 'glow in the dark' angle is not enough to overcome all of that, so I give this one to Stompeez in a landslide.

  1. I don't anything about a Soviet detente. In the past retailers were only taking one item in a product category As Seen On TV and filling their ASOT shelf with variety. Now that they are loosening that somewhat, we have been seeing a bit more of the knockoffs.

  2. Silly Slippeez are very generic and cheap looking. The Leopard one is pathetic. Get a better designer if you are going to compete with an already successful product.

  4. I think silly slippies are 100% the Better choice. Silly slippies have a bigger variety of choices. I personally think the cheetah ones are very cute and I would buy them any day.

  5. Silly Slippeez are nightmare fuel. I hate cheap knockoff companies like this. Come up with your own product instead of stealing ideas from others.
